LiveWire IEM

Here's a quick and short review of the LiveWire In-Ear monitors (IEM) after a few weeks of good listening. Initially, I felt that there was a serious lack of bass, but I soon realised that I was not wearing it correctly. As the LiveWire was my first pair of custom IEMs, I did not know how to wear it and could not get a good seal between the IEMs and my ear canal.

Tire maintenance tips

IMG_3039.jpgHere are some tire maintenance tips that we've learnt and practiced:

1. Check and adjust tire pressure the first thing in the morning.

We prefer to slightly over inflate (< 8psi) our tires in the evening just before we park our car for the night. The next morning, we can deflate the pressure to the correct level easily. It is recommended to set the tire pressure according to the vehicle manufacturer's recommendation. Note: The sun's radiant heat or even driving short distances will warm up the tires; the pressure reading will be off once the tires are warm.

Audiophile terms

I enjoy listening to my music collection because it helps me to relax and gives me immense pleasure. As I'm learning to share some of my findings on the audio equipment and music with others, I need to find a way to communicate my thoughts effectively. This is where the audiophile "language" or terms comes in.

Corda Headsix - A review

A little package arrived on my desk from Germany recently and it contained a Corda Headsix portable headphone amplifier from the Meier Audio. The Corda Headsix is a limited edition headphone amp specially created for the members of Head-fi.org. A total of 600 pieces were built and a percentage of the profits made from the sale of this amp will be donated to Head-fi.org to fund the forum. I salute the company for taking the effort to contribute back to the community.

Comfort Keyboard for Mac

comfort_keyboards.jpgThe ergonomics of the Microsoft Natural keyboard is something that I've missed since switching to a Mac. A few months ago, I came across the Microsoft "Comfort" keyboard for Macs at a computer store. After checking the specs, I decide to get it. :-P

HP iPaq HW6960

After my Nokia 9300 decided to terminate its "relationship" with me prematurely, I've been left without a PDA-cum-phone aka smartphone for a long time.

Not wanting to purchase the same phone all over again, I've been on the lookout for a suitable replacement. A list of criteria was drawn up; it will satisfy the needs of any techno geeks out there.

Guide to owning a Defender

defender110.jpgOnce in awhile, we will see people come into the local 4x4 and other automotive forums to ask about the Land Rover Defender. Yes, Land Rover built the Defender. For more detailed specifications, you will want to check out Land Rover's website.

BBQ @ The Playground

imageA friend invited us to a BBQ outing with his family and friends. We were delighted as we loved to go on group outings with friends.

Great, I thought. Finally, I get to eat burnt hot dogs! I know it's weird, but I've been hungering for burnt BBQed hot dogs for a LONG LONG time. Yum! (Fred: That was from Mich, BTW... ^.^)
