comfort_keyboards.jpgThe ergonomics of the Microsoft Natural keyboard is something that I've missed since switching to a Mac. A few months ago, I came across the Microsoft "Comfort" keyboard for Macs at a computer store. After checking the specs, I decide to get it. :-P

keyboard01s.jpgThe package came with a wireless keyboard, wireless laser mouse, USB RF module and batteries. The keys on this keyboard were arranged in a curved format, which is what I liked. There are additional programmable keys that can be used to activate applications on the Mac. I've customised the buttons to activate Aperture, EyeTV, Fetch, Grab, iCal, iChat, iTunes, Mail, Safari and Textwrangler, There are also separate buttons for controlling iTunes like play, pause, rewind and volume control, so on. I really like this keyboard and best of all; it is wireless. So I can bring it anywhere in my room, and the keyboard will still work.

keyboard02s.jpgNow, let's talk about the Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 that came with the package. This is one mouse that I totally hate. First of all, it does not work with my Razer ExactMat mouse mat for some strange reason. When I put the mouse on the ExactMat, the mouse pointer will move everywhere as if it were possessed or something. Secondly, the paint on the mouse has faded to the state that looks as if it were used for years. There are also fewer buttons than the Logitech MX100 which I had, so the mouse button customisation that I was used to cannot be implemented here. What a bummer. I was stuck with this mouse in the end as I did not want multiple drivers and USB dongles connected to my Mac.

I hope Logitech can come up with a better and more ergonomically designed wireless keyboard and mouse to replace this one when its time is up. :-P
