APRC 2008 - Malaysia
The Malaysian leg of the APRC (Asia-Pacific Rally Championship) 2008 found itself at Bandar Tenggarah. Though it was literally a wash out, we still had fun running in the muddy conditions and through painful spiky Palm tree plantations. Low lighting made it tough to get good pictures. But hey, if Mich managed one nice shot on her Ixus. Impossible is nothing... :-)

Singapore Motorshow 2008
The Singapore Motorshow 2008 was a disappointing event, with most of the big players opting to spend their advertising dollars on the world's first Forumla 1 night race. Whoever expected to see a local bike distributor like Polygon there? Nonetheless, the lowered ticket prices tempted us to visit the exhibition. And we were kept happy by the stunt performance in Subaru cars driven by the Swifts' father-son team.

Super Import Nights 2008
Here are some photographs taken during the recent Super Import Nights, an exhibition showcasing rides brought in by parallel importers or heavily modified performance cars. The scale of the event this year seems smaller and not as interesting as the previous one. We hope the organisers can put up a better show in future to justify for the cost of the entry ticket.

Michelle's birthday celebration 2008
For Mich's birthday, the family went on an excursion to our all time favourite Japanese restaurant, Shimizu @ the PSA Building. Although the food was a little lacking in its usual standard, the atmosphere was great and we had a great time!

BikeAsia 2008
Here's a compilation of images we shot during out visit to BikeAsia 2008 today. We've decided to check the exhibition out as Fred is suffering from bike (both the motor and the two-legged kind!) withdrawal symptoms and Mich is interested in getting a mountain bike or a roadie. The show comprised mainly of Italian-built bikes and a couple of locally modded ones. The Japanese makes were strangely missing, we wonder why? :-(

Our Wedding (2)
The solemnization part of the wedding had a soft part in us. To our family and close friends, thank you for standing by us when things didn't turn out like we wanted it to be. Sure, it didn't end up in a Church even though we worked our butts off for it. But at the end of the day, what mattered was the joining of 2 best friends and the end of a friendship and beginning of a foray into marriage life.

The first part of the wedding consisted of Chinese customs and traditions. The day begun bright and early in the morning with tough challenges mete out to both Fred and his "brother", Francis followed by the traditional glutinous riceball and tea ceremony later on.

Audi R8
We attended our first inaugural Volkswagen / Audi Groups Singapore (VAGSG) meetup held at Kallang McDonald's. The usual suspects turned up and boy did we get a surprise when an Audi R8 appeared! We could hear the V8 FSI engine roar as it made its entrance. Impressed were we, with its carbon fibre trimmings, the beautiful LED headlights and who could resist the aerodynamics on the car in the form of 2 large diffuser openings and a small popup spoiler! Leopard launch party @ SF
On the faithful day of 26th Oct at 6pm, Apple stores worldwide will launch the latest OS X, Leopard. And I will be there at the mothership to welcome its arrival and experience my first true-blue Apple event. :-) In addition, this is the Halloween weekend. So we managed to see a costume ride-by after the launch!

Fun-filled SFO weekend
My co-worker, Ryan was nice to bring us out for a fun-filled Saturday! The weather was nice and sunny! Went to play archery for a few hours and ended our day at the ValleyFair Mall in Santa Clara with delicious cheesecakes from the Cheesecake Factory and a visit to the AppleCorner.

This weekend, we head to town to experience the US Naval Fleet Week featuring the Navy Blue Angels, a Parade of Navy ships and other exciting demonstrations. And also to taste the famous Clam Chowder in the meantime. ;-)

Engadget reader meetup 2007
It was shortly after lunch when my colleague suggested that we attended the Engadget meetup happening that same evening at 7pm. We all got into his ride and left for the Mission Bay Conference Center. The meetup was a fun-filled one, with freebies and cool demos given by the respective vendors. Attending the event would be my first and hopefully not my last. It was great spending my night with techies, geeks and fantastic gadgets. ;-)

SAFRA Archery Competition 2007
The SAFRA Archery Competition 2007 was held at SAFRA Tampines recently. As the official photographer, I had the opportunity to capture some images during the competition. It was an intense weekend for the competitors as the competition was keen and the weather, very unpredictable. It was sunny one moment and suddenly there were thunderstorms. This year, the Gurkha Contingent won the overall champion trophy! Well done, guys!

As the Malaysian Rally drew to a close, we came to witness the aftermath of an unfortunate accident and the amazing professionalism and camaraderie of the Subaru pit crew. To conclude an exciting weekend, the Ceremonial Finish was an interesting and fun affair to experience. So somebody, please invite us to another Rally! We love the dust and action! :-P

APRC 2007 - Malaysia (Day 1 - Service Park)
During a rally race, the rally cars are driven to the service park (pit stop) for servicing, tuning or emergency repair after competing in several special stages. This is where the effort of a few good men are put to the test. The performance and reliability of a rally car depend heavily on the competency and skills of the crew. It is also during this period, when the drivers and navigators get a chance to rest or mingle with their fans.

Offroading in Singapore
The rainy season may seem frightening to some, but not to Land Rover owners. The group had decided to take their trucks to have some fun at a flooded local playground and we even have some pictures and video to share with you! The Year of Jacky Cheung World Tour 2007
Jacky's powerful vocals filled the Singapore Indoor stadium on the night of 14th July 2007. His performance was incredible! It was filled with fantastic live music, exciting fireworks and fancy footwork by Jacky himself. He passionately and skillfully delivered popular songs from all of his albums. Not an easy feat, considering his age.
Apart from his strong vocals, we could not help paying attention to his footwork. He had surely put a lot of effort into mastering the choreographed steps, and it paid off! :-) Ultimately, it was his polished vocals and his repertoire of evergreen songs that won the day. Once he finished his last song, the crowds went wild and almost didn't want him to leave the stage. Jacky, his dancers and the band gave a bow before the curtains finally drew to a wonderful end. We'll never forget this night for we have just witnessed the performance of one of the greatest singers ever lived.

HP iPaq HW6960
These are some snap shots which I took for my hands-on review of the HP iPaq HW6960 smartphone. The 6960 is a replacement that I've been searching for a long time. It incorporates a Quad-band phone, GPS receiver, WiFi, Bluetooth and infrared in one package. Do check out my review here. :-)

Motorshow 2006
We paid a visit to the Singapore Motorshow 2006 last week and as promised, the photo gallery is up and running! Disappointment was obvious as we entered the exhibition hall. As compared to the last few Motorshows, this edition paled in comparison with its collection of exotic and concept cars. Nonetheless, we tried our best to share with you some images captured during the short visit.

Clifford Pier (紅燈碼頭)
Clifford Pier, over 70 years old, is steeped in maritime history. It was the entry point for many early seafarers and our ancestors setting foot on Singapore. It has also played an important role in shaping Singapore's maritime scene and to a certain extent, the Central Business District. Before it closed its doors, Clifford Pier was a landing point for those visiting Singapore's Southern Islands. It is clearly an icon of our maritime heritage.

Geocaching with Friends
Eric and Steve introduced me to the world of Geocaching today. Steve was here on a visit, after helping out in the rebuilding effort in Thailand, which suffered a serious blow during the recent Tsunami.
Being a newbie to Geocaching, I was both excited and nervous. But, Thanks to the good company of Eric's family and Steve, the outing had been really fun and I believe we have throughly enjoyed it. Do join us in our QUEST in this series of photographs.

iPod Shuffle
We were hanging out around Funan when we stumbled upon the recently announced iPod shuffle on sale at AppleCentre. We immediately rang our friend Adrian, who was lusting to get one of these beauties. He immediately rushed down to purchase two, and we would like to take this opporturnity to share some pics which were shot while we were happily tearing apart the box that contains the iPod shuffle... we wonder when will the 1GB version arrive? :-P

Motorshow 2004
Mich has finally put the finishing touches to the Singapore Motorshow 2004 that was held at the Suntec City Exhibition Centre at the end of last year. iPods
Fred tried product photography at home today, the subject was our iPods, their Vaja cases and some other accessories we had.
