To flash or not to flash?
There has been a lot of discussion on the use of flash to light nature subjects; some say it's perfectly fine while others counter it. We have found an interesting article that has given us an educated answer, we hope you'll find it useful too.

RRS Single integrated multi-purpose rail and mini-clamp
Really Right Stuff has once again released a new piece of equpment that will help photographers create better photo. The new low profile MPR-CL combines a 6" multi-purpose rail (modified long lens plate) and mini-clamp into an elegant slider for camera bodies. This slider is the perfect solution for providing fore-aft motion for camera bodies when shooting panoramas and in Fred's opinion, Macro too!

Our Sunday
Our Sunday began very early in the morning. After meeting up with our friend, we left for our weekly dose of nature photography!
Yesterday was a great day! :-) We observed the habits of the Blue-Throated Bee-eaters for the entire morning. Yes, we will post the pictures as soon as we get to processing them! The Bee-eaters were doing their usual "neck-cranking" exercises and were busy "tracking" their juicy prey! It was an amazing sight! Keke.
We went for a short lunch break, only to go shooting again. This time, we were greeted by some of our "old" friends. A pair of Black Shouldered kites on their usual perch, ignorant to our presence and just sun bathing. Oh did we tell you, the weather on Sunday was HOT! ;-)
A White-Bellied Sea Eagle hovered low with something in its talon. Try as we may, we just could not beat the speed of its very powerful wings!
Our bird of-the-day was a Large-tailed NightJar! It caught us out of the blue! We decided to stop for a break and before moving off, our friend managed to spot the Nightjar just at his door! It was simply adorable. Nightjars are nocturnal, hence it was oblivious to us as we snapped away. When it moved, it didn't just get up and start walking. Instead, it ROCKED its way to where it wanted to go! When it got tired, it flew. The wing patterns on the Nightjar are beautiful! Just like a minature owl!
When it was evening, we were too greeted with many familiar friends.
A lone low flying Black Kite. It was really fast! We were surprised at their call. It was a gentle and coarse "mew". Just like a cat. Here, they presented themselves. A pair of Brahminy kites. We also had a family of Dollar birds on a nearby tree. It was our first time spotting a juvenile Dollar bird. It looked just like a Mynah, with its dull black coat. A big difference from its parents with their shiny dark blue coat. It was a day to remember! And both of us were glad to have spent the day with each other! :-)
Never EVER forgetting of course, our dear friend, Peng Eik. Whose patience, kindness and humour made our day complete. Thank you!
