Blown away!

I (Fred) was sceptical about the Grado headphones at first, how can a pair of headphone have such a cult following? Well, I must confess that I was blown away after auditioning 2 pairs (SR-80 and SR-225) of Grados with my buddy today. These headphones are truly made to be enjoyed, the detail and space these buggers put out is simply for the lack of a better word... astonishing! Hmm... my buddy got himself an early X-mas present today, for me... I'll have to save up first. *bleah* :-P

Funny looking headphone

Fred met a friend he got to know through MUGS today and joined him for a headphone shopping trip. He was told that the Grados are awesome headphones... but they look kind of funny though. Do check out Grado's website for more information. ;-P

New iPods

iPodApple has just announced the arrival of two new additions to the iPod family; iPod Photo (in the usual white) and iPod U2 Special Edition (in black) look set to take the iPodders and U2 by storm! The iPod Photo is similar to the 4G iPod but includes a colour LCD screen, longer battery life, bigger capacity (40 & 60GB) and the capability to syncs iPod-viewable photos in JPEG, BMP, GIF, TIFF and PNG formats. The iPod U2 Special Edition is the same 4G 20GB iPod but comes in black with a red scroll wheel. Do check out AppleStore for pricing details and specifications.

iTunes 4.7

Right on the heels of the new iPods announcements, Apple has also updated Our favourite digital music library software iTunes to version 4.7. We are currently not sure what this update fixes or improved upon, guess it must have something to do with the release of the new iPods.

QuickTime 6.5.2

Another software update that came along the way today was QuickTime 6.5.2. It includes a security update, bug fixes, enhancements in the Apple Lossless Encoder and AAC codecs, as well as improved support for iTunes and other QuickTime-based applications.

Updates from Apple

Apple has just announced an updated series of iBooks, Xserve RAID and an additonal single processor PowerMac G5 to the line up. We feel that the best news of it all was the more affordable pricing of the iBook, as this could really draw new converts over to the Mac. The myth "Apple computers are expensive" will always remain a myth.

A wonderful friend!

Lexar_2GBJust when you thought you will not have enough CF cards to store images shot outfield, a friend comes along and tells you that he has gotten you a new CF card for you!

How much more could you ask for?

That was what actually happened last week! Our friend Chua managed to get us a 2GB Lexar CompactFlash card at a very decent price. That solved our problem of not having enough CF cards for our outing. THANKS A MILLION Chua!

Finally our Vaja is here!

thumbnailsAfter a month of waiting, the wait is finally over! The Vaja cases for our iPods have finally landed at our doorstep in the hands of a friendly Fedex crew. The cases were part of a Mass Order which Fred helped to organise in the Mac Users Group (Singapore) Forum, and the response to the MO was great! iPod owners must really love and cherish their iPods! Hee hee...

The Vaja case offered a really snug fit for the iPod. Once you've placed the iPod in the case, it is quite tough to take it out again. Hence it offers complete protection for your iPod. Both of us customized our Vaja cases to have an UltraClip and a pin sewn into the case. Fred had an extra screen protector for his beloved 4G too, while Mich had a push-through system for her 2G. The clips are really tough to give you a sound mind while walking through a busy path. No more worrying if your iPod has dropped! That's a relief!

They have many different colours and it was a tough time choosing the right colour. :( But we finally made our choice! *WHEW* ;)

On the flip side, we felt very sorry and upset that a case has failed to be delivered with the other 10 cases. Apparently, Vaja completely missed it out during the manufacturing process. All is well though as Vaja promised Fred to expedite the production of this case and will have it shipped out promptly. We hope the owner of the case will have her Vaja case soon!
