Sightings: Peregrine Falcon

pf2006.jpgThe Peregrine Falcon (Falco peregrinus) is one of the fastest flying bird in the world and a rare bird to be sighted especially in urban Singapore. Fred was blessed with the opportunity to sight this beautiful bird-of-prey today. We hope more of these beauties will arrive on our shores during this migratory season.

The rescue mission

hgv.jpgAlmost the whole of Singapore's birding community descended onto the location where the Himalayan Griffon was sighted today. The bird did not fly off as Fred had hoped and was observed to be in a rather weak state.

A rescue mission was planned, and an expert from the bird park was called in to evacuate the bird to safety. We hope that the bird park will take good care of the bird and help it on its way and not kept it locked up in a cage. Wishing the bird All the Best!

The comeback kid!

hgv.jpgIt was two years ago when Fred last sighted a Himalayan Griffon (Gyps himalayensis) in Singapore. He had the chance to meet this "massive" work of nature again today!

The encounter was brief, but the experience was something which he could not forget. We wish the bird well and hope it will reach its destination safely.

iLife 06 - Improvements to the current five iApps with a new addition called "iWeb".
iWork 06 - New themes, templates, 3D charts and so on.

Both suites are coded in universal binaries, which mean they'll work with Intel Macs. Other apps will follow and will be release later in the year.

iMac 17" 1.83GHz Intel Core Duo - SGD$2,388
iMac 20" 2.0GHz Intel Core Duo - SGD$3,088

Both hardware product lines are powered by Intel Core Dual processors. Besides that, there are also other specs that are not so well advertised. Things like faster ethernet on the new iMac, ExpressCard/34 slot on the MacBook Pro and so on...

And last but not least...

iPod Radio Remote - SGD$88

One day more!

Yes! One day more till Macworld SF 2006! What will Steve Jobs have for us Mac faithful? This year's Macworld is the most secretive and there are hardly any Mac rumour going around, and that made us really excited! We reckon the outcome will be two extreme, a non-event or one that will make our jaw drop..... we shall see.....
