First Overland - Golden Anniversary
Over the next weekend, Land Rover owners in Singapore will have a chance to celebrate! Celebrate what, you might ask? Well, we'll be commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Oxford & Cambridge First Overland Expedition!
The definition of overland: traveling or passing over land. And this is exactly what the the group did! They travelled a mind-boggling six months, six days and 18,000 miles. From the English Channel to Singapore. The first of their time. And they did it all with the company and help of each other and 2 very trusy Land Rovers. (Well, being LR owners ourselves, can we call them "trusty?" :P)
Now 50 years after their first entry into Singapore, the guys are back! And with the collaboration of the LR groups of Malaysia and Singapore, the 5 surviving members will take part in a golden anniversary celebration drive retracing their Expedition's journey from KL to exact spot where the Rover dealer has its showroom in 1956 (the Ford factory). To end the day, the convoy will make its way to the brand new LR showroom at Alexandra.
Sounds way too exciting huh? We'll promise to keep you updated on the latest updates from this event!
