Wimberley Head II

Most nature photographers will have a Wimberley Head or something similar in their kit. This type of tripod head allows smooth and rapid panning motion when capturing fast moving subjects in the field. The bad news is; the weight of the head is really heavy. Now the good news! Wimberley has recently launched an updated version of the Wimberley Head. It offers the same stiffness, capacity and fluid movement of the old version in a more compact and lightweight package.

D200 & Lens reviewed

Thom Hogan has just posted his review of the D200 & 18-200mm AFS lens on his website. IMHO, the newest Nikon DSLR, looks set to be the challenger to the top-of-the-line D2X at a more affordable price. The versatile 18-200mm will surely be an excellent all-in-one lens for most photographers. Do check his reviews for more details. :-)

A great outing!

In style they came! Five surviving members of the First Overland Expedition crossed the 2nd Link with members of the Land Rover Owners Malaysia and Malayan Safaris to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the expedition.

We met the entourage and travelled to their hotel along Orchard road. Thereafter, we headed for the new Land Rover showroom along Alexandra road for an evening of celebrations. We had great fun, and the images for the day can be viewed in the Gallery. Enjoy! :-)

First Overland - Golden Anniversary - D-Day

Yes! It's happening tomorrow. A convoy of around 30 Landies will be crossing the 2nd link tomorrow after travelling down from KL, Malaysia. They will rendezvous with Landies from Singapore and retrace the historical route from the old Ford factory to the brand-new Land Rover showroom in Alexandra road.

Keep a look out when you're in town, you might just spot the convoy along the way. Gary has worked very hard in the planning and organising of this event, Thanks Gary! :-)
