Words Of Wisdom

And if my heart and flesh are weak,
To bear an untried pain,
The bruised reed He will not break,
But strengthen and sustain. -- Whittier

Lyrics for a thought...

You know, everynow and then, you'll hear a song or two which touches your heart because it connects. I'll share the lyrics of two songs that I absolutely adore at the moment. :-)

1. Timbaland (feat. Keri Hilson, D.O.E.) - The Way I Are

I ain't got no money, I ain't got no car to take you on a date
I can't even buy you flowers, But together we'll be the perfect soulmates

Oh, baby, it's alright now, you ain't gotta flaunt for me
If we go there, you can still touch my love, it's free
We can work without the perks just you and me, Thug it out 'til we get it right

I ain't got no Visa, I ain't got no Red American Express
We can't go nowhere exotic, It don't matter 'cause I'm the one that love you best

'Cause I like you just the way you are

Baby girl, I don't got a huge ol' house I rent a room in a house
Listen baby girl, I ain't got a motorboat but I can float ya boat

2. HSM 2 Cast - Celebrate Everyday

Once in a lifetime means there's no second chance
So I believe that you and me should grab it while we can

Make it last forever and never give it back, It's our turn and I'm loving where we're at
Because this moment's really all we have

Everyday of our lives, Wanna find you there, Wanna hold on tight, Gonna run
While we're young and keep the faith Everyday From right now,
Gonna use our voices and scream out loud

Take my hand, Together we will celebrate everyday
No matter where we're going, it starts from where we are

There's more to life when we listen to our hearts and because of you,
I've got the strength to start, We're taking it back, we're doing it here together!

It's better like that, and stronger now than ever! We're not gonna lose
'Cause we get to choose that's how it's gonna be!

Lightning

lighting_07.jpg
I love lightnings! Everytime when I see a flash in the sky, I will rush to my camera, set it up on the sturdiest mini-tripod I have and snap away! (Yes, I still use my v3.) Apart from tornados, I think lightning bolts are the most handsome things in the world! Ah-hem... except for my dearest puppy, of course! ;-) It can get very frustrating while photographing lightnings. One needs to snap away and hopefully capture a bolt in a picture of two out of hundreds! You've got to be really lucky to capture really big bolts on camera as it has got alot to do with luck. Sure, you can gauge how often a lightning will strike. But one thing's for sure, you can never predict when a gigantic multi-bolt lightning will come your way... So be patient and snap away!

More pictures in the "Forces of Nature" gallery. ;-)

Apple knows the important of colour, and has created this section on their website to provide us with a good foundation on colour and its effects.

Electricity tariffs set to rise... again!

Here's a snippet from CNA.

Electricity tariffs will go up later this year because of higher oil prices.

SP Services said electricity tariffs will be raised by an average of 0.86 cent, or 4.29 percent, per kilowatt-hour, for the three months from October to December.

This is to offset the 12.91 percent increase in oil prices which went up from US$51.42 (S$77.45) to US$58.06 (S$87.46) per barrel.

SP Services added that the electricity tariffs is reviewed quarterly and adjusted according to the fluctuating electricity costs.

These adjustments have been approved by the Energy Market Authority, which is the industry regulator.

We decide to play with the camera one evening and this was the result. Quite interesting, I might add. ;-) And yeah, we learnt that it was not easy hand-holding a DSLR steady while in a bumpy ride! Sorry, JarJar! *hand, forehead*

DPReview preview D300

Just read an article on DPReview.com which covers a preview of the upcoming Nikon D300 DSLR. Based on what was written, the D300 appears to be a very ideal camera for touring (because of its small size) and nature (due to the crop factor). We shall check it out once it is available locally. :-)

Words Of Wisdom

To those in desperate need,
He lifts them up, He helps them stand
Through caring saints and loving deed. — D. De Haan
