Razer Mantis Control mouse pad
I treated myself to the Razer Mantis mousing surface recently. After using it for a couple of weeks, I must say that I really like it. The surface area of this mouse pad is huge and the tracking from my optical mouse has improved tremendously when compared to using previous el-cheapo mouse pads. ;-)

The Big 5
We've just celebrated our 5th anniversary and being a darling, Fred wanted to give me a surprise by fetching me from work. But alas, work calls and the anniversary dinner had to be postponed. We had our belated dinner at Café de Amigo @ Funan IT Mall though. A nice small place with live jazz music to boot!
5 years don't seem short and is definitely not long either. It was during this whole period that strange habits and quirks all come together in a gigantic ball of amusement and confusion. And through it all, it was good enough for us to decide that we would like to grow old together. Come next year, it would be a brand new celebration on a different date!
"I've been awake for a while now, you've got me feelin like a child now,
cause every time I see your bubbly face, I get the tinglies in a silly place..."

Encounter with a wild python
Our friend, Jeff recently encountered a wild python at Bishan park and recorded the encounter in a series of images here. It was an exciting moment for him because it was his first encounter with the wild reptile. His pics subsequently appeared in Stomp as well as the local Mandarin newspaper, Lianhe Wanbao.

Linkin Park Concert
I had missed their 2004 Padang concert and made it a point to attend their latest one held on 13th November at the Indoor Stadium. :-) It was a crazy rockfest! The crowd stood up for nearly the entire duration and we were all screaming and jumping away to every beat and word of the songs. Acoustic session was the best, IMHO as we had Mike on the keyboards and Chester on vocals singing Pushing Me Away and Breaking The Habit. The latter was a slow build up to the original, which was again fantastic-ally played as usual. Crowd favourites like Numb, Faint, Crawling, What I've Done, Somewhere I Belong and many others were performed with extreme precision and even sounded better than the original recordings.
Ahh... What can I say? They are one heck of a talented band! Overall, great job... if only the concert was longer, it would have made our money's worth! LP, you sure made my 2007 a blast! And it would not have been the same if Fred and Shiyan wasn't there. ;-)
PS, did anyone notice that Mr. Hahn lost weight? Hehe.

Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin
The Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin speaker for the iPod is
IMHO, one of the most beautiful iPod speakers I've ever come across since the invasion of the iPod. The
Zeppelin comes with a dock that allows the playback of music in your iPod, charges it and outputs the video onto an attached TV if you so choose. There is an AUX-in to connect to other sources like CD players and so on. I'll definitely be checking out the sound when I see the Zeppelin in-person. Do check out this site for more details. :-P

Guys-night-out
The group of us had a guys-night-out last evening, and it was lots of fun. We had a great dinner at a very pleasant restaurant in Funan, the ambience is great, the food is fantastic and the company is excellent. What a great way to catch up with old friends! During dinner, our friend Jeff reveals that he has gotten himself a new ride and we were all eager to go for a spin and that was what we did after dinner.
Jeff's new ride is the Volkswagen Golf Mk V GTI DSG, a car that I've come across in Fifth Gear and many motoring magazines. I was particularly interested in the DSG transmission, and I had a taste of it. The car pulled away very smoothly from the traffic light, and before you knew it, we've crossed the speed limit on the expressway. The experience convinced me that the Golf MkV GTI is a very fine car to drive, just like what the reviews said.
