A view from Swissotel Stamford
We had the honour of a bird's eye view from the 66th floor of the Swissotel Stamford. Once again, congratulations to the happy couple of Bert and Mel. Your relationship was a long ride and I'm glad to be part of the journey. :-) What made the view even more interesting was the NDP rehearsal going on on the floating platform below. The acrobatics of the Black Knights and the fireworks were awesome! Damn! And we missed out them irritating tix....

Imedion rechargeable batteries
The time was long overdue for us to replace our rechargeable batteries for all of our little gadgets. It was good news when we saw the ad of PowerEx Imedion on sale during the PC show. Imedion specifications state that it will retain up to 85% of charge after one year of storage, which is fantastic! It is also compatible with our current NiMH battery chargers, which is also good. We've gotten a few packs to test and see whether the claims are true. :-P

iPhone 3G announced
Apple has finally introduced the much anticipated 3G iPhone at WWDC today. Do check out the iPhone webpage for more details and specifications. Steve mentioned that the new iPhone will be selling at USD199 and USD299 for the 8GB and 16GB respectively in the U.S. and several other countries. Let's hope it'll be priced similarly here as well. Singtel will be the initial carrier that will launch the 3G iPhone here in Singapore, later this year.

eHub
We were nicely surprised with the popping up of a new mall in the Eastern part of Singapore. It's called eHub and comes equipped with a supermarket, a bowling alley and most importantly, a cinema! Gone were the days when we had to trudge home in the middle of the night after a late night movie. Still trudging.... But over a far shorter distance... :-)

Fuel price hike
Fuel prices across the Causeway have risen by 40% overnight. Though inevitable, this development will not only impact locals, but will also affect tourists like us who drive across the Causeway for road trips and visits to places of interest dotted around the country. Not forgetting the increases in foodstuff due to the rise in transportation costs. :( We will need to plan our trips more carefully in future to minimise on extraneous journey.
