Happy New Year!
Once again a new year has slowly crept up behind us without warning. The year 2009 is upon us and we know it is one helluva tough year ahead. What is life without challenges yeah? ;-)

Parallels Desktop 4
I've recently upgraded my Mac to Parallels Desktop 4 so that I can run some windoze application that required x-pee, without having to boot up from Bootcamp. The overall experience has been positive, and I would say it is well worth the price. For more details on Parallels Desktop 4, do check out this review by Macworld magazine.

Dragonfly landed
We had a dragonfly who made its landing on Mantou a few nights ago and was stuck on the roof all the way from Jurong to Keppel! The stress of the journey probably took its toll as we found it exhausted on the carpark floor a few hours later. :-\ We hear they signify good luck. An Atom perhaps?

Westone 3 photos
ilounge posted some photo of the recently announced Westone 3 in-ear-monitors. From the photographs posted, it seems that the connecter use is not 1st gen iPhone friendly. This is definitely a minus point for me. These little jewels should have already hit the market, do go to your favourite stores and audition them. ;-)

Ariel Atom comes to SG
The British-made Ariel Atom is apparently going to be driven on Singapore roads soon. Although it looks more like a track car than your normal sedan, it is drivable on public roads and guaranteed to be a blast to drive. Specifications can be found on the manufacturer's website.

OpenOffice.org 3
We advocate using free or open sourced software, and OpenOffice is one of them. Now in version 3 (for Intel Macs) form, OpenOffice has grown from strength to strength, although it still lacks the polish of the suite from M$. Nevertheless, we believe that it will one day become a well-polished jewel with further development. BTW, here is review of OpenOffice 3 by Macworld.

Nikon D3X DSLR
Nikon finally announced the impending release of the D3X DSLR. Armed with over 24 megapixels, 5fps, ISO 100 to 1600 and many other features that were on the D3. It may be a good time for us to pick up a new DSLR once the D3X hits the market and the prices of older models begin to fall. Keeping our fingers crossed.

Petrol prices lowered by another 4 cents
Petrol prices fell again today; this is the 13th price drop since July 2008. This is good news to all motorist.
