iSync plugins
For some strange reasons, Mac OS X does not natively support syncing of contacts, calender and other data to a number of mobile phones. Luckily, there is a piece of software that can help. iSync plugins supports more than 200 mobile phones from Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, Siemens and Sony Ericsson. It enables syncing through iSync, and works really well.

Petrol prices went up!
Petrol prices have gone up for the second time this year; prices increased between five to seven cents. Price for diesel was down by four cents though. :-/

Garmin RoadTrip 2.0.1 reviewed
Macworld online has reviewed Garmin RoadTrip 2.0.1, a Mac-based application that allows users to plan routes, create waypoints, download tracks and more on their Macs. This app is free (currently) and can be downloaded from Garmin's website.

Little Snitch 2.0.5
Little Snitch is our favourite firewall app that helps protect our Macs against unwanted guests from the Web. The application has been updated to version 2.0.5 to fix some bugs and improve compatibility with various screen savers. Do check out the release notes for more details.

ERP rates adjustments
LTA announced ERP rates adjustments which will be implemented from 2 Feb 09. The details are:
- CTE (north of Braddell Road-southbound) - cut by 50 cents on weekdays.
- PIE (Kallang Bahru-westbound) - cut by 50 cents on weekdays.
- PIE (Eunos Link-westbound) - cut by a dollar.
- Eu Tong Sen Street (towards Suntec City) - cut by a dollar on Saturdays.
- Fullerton Road (towards Suntec City) - cut by a dollar on Saturdays.
- ECP (Marina South-eastbound) and the slip road from Ophir Road - increase by 50 cents to S$2.

We've mentioned before that the restaurant, Cafe de Hong Kong serves some very nice Hong Kong cuisines and our friend Jeff introduced us to the restaurant. The ieatishootipost blog recently published an article featuring some delicious dishes (that we've yet to try) and somehow we've got the feeling that our friend Jeff has got something to do with it! :-P

iLife 09 & iWork 09
Apple also unveiled major upgrades to iPhoto, iMovie, and GarageBand and an updated version of iWeb under iLife 09. iPhoto 09 now have a new feature that can do facial features detection and automatically compile an album for a particular person in your photo library. The various applications in iWork 09 were also beefed up significantly. Do download a trial copy from Apple's website to try out all the interesting features.

Pump prices up by 4 cents
After a series of downward adjustment over the past few months, petrol prices have once again made the upturn. As of last night, prices for all grades of petrol and diesel were raised by 4 cents per litre. This trend is expected to continue with the oil producing countries cutting back on production!

Read & Write NTFS Volume
