New Nikon DSLR bodies

Nikon has added a new entry-level DSLR to their stable. The D3000 features a 10.2 Megapixels DX-format CCD, 11-point AF system, 3fps continuous shooting rate and 3.0 inch LCD.

The other DSLR that was officially unveiled was the D300S. The web has been abuzz with rumours that there will be an update to the D300 and the rumours were proven to be true. The D300S includes new features like HD video recording, Dual CF and SD card slots, 7 fps continuous shooting and many other improvements.

Nikkor AF-S 70-200mm F/2.8G ED VR II

Another lens that was announced by Nikon is the Nikkor AF-S 70-200mm F/2.8G ED VR II. The lens features a type of lens coating which is designed to deliver sharp images all the way into the corners of the frame, and come equipped with 7 ED lens elements. More details here.

Nikkor AF-S DX 18-200MM F/3.5-5.6G ED VR II

Nikon announced the Nikkor AF-S DX 18-200MM F/3.5-5.6G ED VR II superzoom lens today. The new lens incorporates a mechanism to prevent zoom creep, a problem that plague our current Sigma superzoom lens. The new Nikkor is an ideal companion for travel and general photography due to its relatively compact size and zoom range. More details of the lens can be found here.

On track Incident during Hungarian F1 GP qualifying

According to news report, Ferrari's F1 driver Felipe Massa suffered a head injury when a track debris stuck him during the Hungarian GP qualifying. He has reportedly undergone surgery to treat two skull fractures suffered during the accident. We hope he'll be all right and recover soon.

Our first iEat makan session

Our friend Jeff invited us to join him in a iEat makan session at Cafe de Hong Kong for dinner. It was our first time participating in such an event, and we must say that it was really fun! We joined a group of over 70 pax for a 12 course dinner to savour the exquisite dishes prepared by the chef and the special dessert whose recipe was the brainchild of Dr Leslie Tay, himself!

The ambience was fantastic and accompanied by both new and old friends, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Till the next time! :-)
